
Eduardo Pereira
Eduardo Pereira began his musical journey at the age of six at the State Conservatory of Music Renato Fratteschi in Uberaba, MG. As part of the conservatory's music program, he participated in numerous performances with the Cenecista Orchestra Dr. José Ferreira throughout the country: Rio Grande do Sul, Bahia, and the Distrito Federal. In 2010, he enrolled in the Popular Music program at the State University of Campinas, under the guidance of professor and guitarist Ulisses Rocha. In 2023, he obtained a Master's degree in Music from the same university in the field of Instrumental Studies and Performance.


As a popular music instrumentalist, Eduardo Pereira performed as a member of the "Choro de Aprendiz" group from 2003 to 2010; "Devagar e sempre" (2010); “Quarteto Seu Zé” (2013); “Picadinho da Velha” (2014), a group that paid tribute to the centennial of the composer César Guerra Peixe at the VII Choro Festival of Unicamp and released the album “Choros de Guerra-Peixe” through the Cultural Action Program (ProAC), directed by Nailor Proveta and arranged by Jayme Vignoli; “Choro da Mata” (2014); in 2016, as a mandolin player, Eduardo Pereira received the 5th place award at the Nabor Pires Camargo Award, alongside musicians Roberto Amaral and André Ribeiro. Currently, he is a member of the “Orquestra de Choro Campineira,” which released the album “Orquestra de Choro Campineira visita Laércio de Freitas”; the "Regional da Vila" group, a choro ensemble focused on reviving traditional compositions of the musical genre while incorporating more contemporary elements through a repertoire composed by the group members themselves; and the “Trio Macaxeira” group, which released the album “Sentimentos” in 2022, featuring special appearances by Toninho Ferragutti and Teco Cardoso, in addition to musical direction by Edu Ribeiro.
He conducted several educational activities related to Brazilian music: presented the workshop "Brazilian Cavaquinho Practice and Choro" in Funchal, a Portuguese city on Madeira Island in 2013; in 2019, a workshop on accompaniments in choro and its related rhythms at the State Conservatory Renato Frateschi in Uberaba-MG; in 2022, the workshop "Ensemble Practice in Brazilian Rhythms" in the cities of Socorro-SP, São José dos Campos-SP, Campinas-SP, Itapira-SP, and Indaiatuba-SP, through ProAc Editais; also in 2022, through ProAc Direto, the video lesson "An Introduction to Cavaquinho Practice," aimed at beginners.
Through the State University of Campinas, he presented the lecture-recital "Technical Arrangement Resources in Hamilton de Holanda's 10-string Mandolin Solo: Practical Study on 1 byte 10 strings" at PERFORMUS’20 - VIII International Congress of ABRAPEM and the Communication-recital "Hamilton de Holanda's Contemporary Mandolin: Polyphonic Potential of the 10-string Mandolin" at the XXX Congress of Anppom, related to the field of instrumental studies and musical performance.
